I love goin' to metal/rock festivals in summer, and I really could't miss to see Loudness in Germany. I went there mostly to see loudness (the other band where great too, but as many of you say, these japanese are more like an underground band nowadays).
So, I went from Spain to Germany, bought some old vinyls (ligntning strikes and hurricane eyes to try to get them signed, and i did it!)... well, about their show:
they kicked ass, most of the people had no idea of who loudness were, but when the show started, people were getting nearer and nearer to the stage, so that at the end it was totally full. people really liked it. The previous day, the band played about 4 songs (it was a warm-up show, for people to know them even for the first time) and the effect was similar. A lot of people dind't even care of who they were, they just started headbanging from the beginning to the end of the show.
what I really feel, is that loudness are very underrated. Akira is, for me, one of the best guitar players in the whole world. I'm sure about it.
I really enyoyed their show, but I missed something... something important: their classics. I find the new songs are good, but does't have the \"Loudness spirit/feel\" of the beginning. I know it's been too many years since they started, but they have incredible songs in their first albums. For example, \"like hell\". This songs is for me one of the best heavy metal songs ever, for the power and the classic sound (amazing guitar solo,...). They didnt play it. \"Crazy nights\" was played only in the warm up party. So, at the end, they played \"esper\", \"crazy doctor\", \"sdi\" and \"loudness\" from the classic albums. my question, ¿are they afraid with the old songs? ¿do they think they kick no ass now?...
well, that was my impression. I got a little disillusion, but I was in a unique show, and maybe i'll never see them again. For now, I'll wear my t-shirt with the japan war flag image and the loudness logo (yeah, amazing), and keep making people get crazy. I hope to see them again in a full show (cause in earthshaker they hadn't much time to play)...
long live loudness!!! keep kicking ass, and don't forget to visit europe and america, you still have soldiers waiting for real rock to keep rolling!

I'm afraid I wasn't there unfortunately>_>.But as it sounds they still played a few classics, but no band would play more of their older works than their never ones, just some of their personal favorites maybe, but the newer songs still are more important to show as you can see what the guys are currenctly up to.btw, can Takasaki still play the soli from the older songs you saw cause nowadays everyone can play more technical music than Loudness,so i wonder.Don't want to offend the band or the guitarrist though, but it just seems as if Akira Takasaki has gotten broken fingers or got lazy,as he doesn't show what he once did, that's why I'm curious about that^^
