Lazy:EARTH ARK II (宇宙船地球号II) (2002)Recorded a little over twenty years after the original Earth Ark, this album is a very beautifully done masterpiece. The band as a whole has a much heavier sound here than in even Happy Time, but at the same time, the music is very well done. All throughout this album, Akira absolutely shines on guitar. In Driving High, he has about three tracks of high-speed tapping playing at once. The music on this album is a nice flashback to the old, melodic Loudness of the late 80's, but with a very modern sound. Midnight Cruising is an absolutely beautiful ballad of the sort that most other bands have forgotten how to make. All-in-all, this album is a must have for any serious Akira or Lazy fan. (Akira does the vocals on Make Me Wonder, in the style of Ji-Zo, so be sure to check it out for that, if nothing else!)
